Senior Systems Engineer

Senior Systems Engineer – upto 55,000 pa – Portsmouth – Hybrid Working

Candidates must be able to obtain Security Clearance

My client are a large, global business with a requirement with a requirement to add a Senior Systems Engineer to their team in Portsmouth.

The successful candidate will Undertake Training Systems equipment design, network design and software design, to include overall performance prediction and design of installations, to meet customer requirements within the budget available. You will apply the Systems Engineering principles of ISO 15288 to the design and build of systems through the entire engineering lifecycle, whilst producing and maintaining system design documentation to reflect deployed Training Systems.

Knowledge & Experience:

• Understands engineering principles and approaches underpinning design and development activities and be capable of systems thinking, applying holistic approaches to complex problems
• Demonstrates understanding, knowledge and experience of Systems Engineering including knowledge of appropriate Systems Engineering standards (e.g. ISO 15288)
• Strong problem solving skills, both in terms of creative (product design and development) and analytical areas (e.g. performance assessment)
• Experience of system integration, test and acceptance
• Experience of requirements management (e.g. IBM DOORS Next) and application of configuration management
• Experience of working with large scale complex system designs
• Experience of multiple phases of an engineering lifecycle and good knowledge of lifecycle models (e.g. Waterfall, Agile) and associated tools (e.g. JIRA)
• Experience of presenting both technical and non–technical information in a formal setting
• Good level of IT literacy
• Higher education (or equivalent experience) in a relevant Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) discipline

As a Senior System Engineer working for this company you will be earning a basic salary of up to 55,000 and will be entitled to a fantastic range of company benefits.
