Mechanical Project Manager

We Build Recruitment are on the lookout for a Mechanical Project Manager based in the North West that has a commercial background preferably with experience in fitout projects.

The package for this project manager role is made up of a GBP60,000 salary, with a GBP5000 car allowance, 25 days holiday + Bank Holidays (with your birthday on top as a freebie) and a bonus. Which in total takes this package to around GBP70K.

As above, all the projects are going to be commercial with a large proportion of the work going to be focusing on fast track fitouts, hence the need to be experienced with it however it isn t unheard of for the business to also take on new build contracts. So whilst fitout experience is ideal, new build experience is also welcomed.

The office itself is based in Leigh and will largely be office based. Some site visits will be required but the frequency will be completely dictated by you. If you deem it necessary to go to site, then you can put it in your own diary. As the sites can be nationwide, you ll have to be happy to travel but you ll never be expected or pressured to stay away from home overnight.

Job Role:

• Management of the installers on site ensuring they deliver to an industry standard and that agreed on the contract
• Motivating your team to ensure projects are completed on time as there can often be a fast turnaround on projects
• Working with the QS team to ensure projects remain on cost against quotes and provide regular reports on progress
• To adopt a right first–time ethos with all aspects of the installation.
• Conduct regular reviews of drawings/document control on site, ensuring the correct versions are being used and maintained
• Project specific Health and safety / legal compliance to include the creation of your project specific RAMS, accident reporting and ensuring all operative on your projects are qualified to undertake the works expected of them.
• Procuring materials at the best possible price alongside the commercial team

Skills and Qualifications:

• Relevant Mechanical Qualifications
• CSCS (Black)
• SMSTS preferred
• Previous experience as a Mechanical project manager with a preference going to those who ve managed fast track fitout projects given they re the core of the business
