Interim Financial Accountant – Year End (Higher Education experience needed)

About the client

Morgan Law is seeking an interim Financial Accountant for a University in the London area.

Responsibilities

• Working in a team of 3 to close last years accounts

• Reporting straight to the Assistant Director of Finance

• Currently use SAP, however are in the process of changing to Oracle

• Work with the auditors who are in for 4 weeks in mid–September

• Maintain accurate and complete accounting records
• Prepare financial reports and statements
• Liaise with various departments to obtain information and provide this to external accountants
• Support the finance team with ad–hoc tasks as required

Experience

• Experience of drafting and delivering UK University Financial Statements (E)

• Good technical knowledge of FRS102 and the HE/FE SORP (E)

• Experience of dealing with auditors and auditor queries (E)

• CCAB / CIMA qualified or significant experience of working at a senior level in a finance team within a large and complex organisation (E)

• Recent experience working in the Higher Education sector (E)
