I'm working with a small Commercial fit–out contractor based in north west London who specalise in workspace, retail and commercial spaces. This family run business has big plans for expansion.

About the role:

As a small yet dynamic fit–out company my client is looking for a dedicated Financial Controller to join the team. This pivotal role will be responsible for overseeing all financial aspects of the business, ensuring the company's financial health and compliance. You will work closely with the senior management team to develop financial strategies, prepare budgets, manage cash flow, and provide insightful financial analysis to support decision–making.

Key responsibilities include maintaining accurate financial records, preparing monthly management accounts, and liaising with external accountants for statutory accounts. You will also manage payroll, VAT returns, and other tax–related duties, ensuring all financial operations align with regulatory requirements.

Requirements:

• A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Professional qualification (ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent) is highly desirable.
• Proven experience in a similar role within the construction or fit–out industry.
• Strong knowledge of financial regulations, accounting principles, and tax laws.
• Excellent analytical, problem–solving, and organizational skills.
• Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office, particularly Excel.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders.
• Detail–oriented with a hands–on approach and the ability to meet deadlines.
