A manufacturing client of ours in the Halstead area are recruiting a Group Finance Director to join their team. This is a full–time permanent position working Monday – Friday 8.30am – 4.30pm and paying 70,000 – 80,000 per annum depending on experience. This role is seeking appointment by November 2024 ahead of the current Group FD retirement in the new year.

Reporting into the Board of Directors and being responsible for a team of 3, your key duties as Group Finance Director will include but are not limited to:

  • Overall responsibility for the Group finance control including financial and management accounting, systems and procedures, budgets, taxation and cash flow.
  • Contribute and assist in the development of strategies.
  • Review and manage performance reporting ensuring adherence to budgets and targets.
  • Undertake risk management activities.
  • Ensure that systems are maintained.
  • Prepare budgets based on sales.
  • Monitor group profitability and cash flow, updating Directors when needed.
  • Negotiating with bankers for the provision of funds and facilities.
  • Deal with tax group affairs.
  • Responsible for preparation of Directors reports and Group accounts.
  • Liaising with solicitors and insurance brokers.
  • Take final responsibility for compliance with letter of credit requirements and submission of documents; be responsible for provision of bank guarantees.
  • Consult and liaise with Directors and Senior Managers on a daily basis.
  • General management and administration such as Recruiting staff when needed, Company performance and development, co–ordination of activities, personnel, quality, health and safety and environmental matters.
  • Identifying training requirements and conducting salary and employees reviews.

Skills and Experience required to be considered for this role:

  • ACCA or CIMA qualified
  • Engineering, Manufacturing and production industry experience preferable but not essential
  • Sage 200 system knowledge desirable
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate at all levels, both verbal and written
  • Advanced IT Skills inclusive of Microsoft packages, especially excel
