Job Description:

They are seeking a dynamic and experienced Managing Director to lead their business into its next phase of growth and development. The ideal candidate will have a robust background in the subcontract sheet metal industry and demonstrate exceptional commercial acumen. This is a hands–on role that requires a strategic thinker with the ability to drive operational excellence and foster a culture of continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

• Leadership & Strategy: Provide visionary leadership and strategic direction to ensure the continued growth and success of the company.
• Operational Management: Oversee daily operations and sales, ensuring efficiency, quality control, and adherence to best practices within the sheet metal industry.
• Commercial Acumen: Develop and implement commercial strategies that drive profitability and market share, while maintaining strong relationships with key clients and stakeholders.
• Team Development: Inspire, mentor, and lead a talented team, promoting a collaborative and high–performance work environment.
• Business Development: Identify and capitalise on new business opportunities, leveraging industry insights and trends to stay ahead of the competition.
• Financial Oversight: Manage budgets, financial planning, and performance metrics to ensure the financial health and sustainability of the business.
• Hands–On Involvement: Be actively involved in the production process, understanding the technical details and challenges to make informed decisions and improvements.

Qualifications:

• Industry Experience: Minimum of ten years in the subcontract sheet metal industry, with at least five years in a senior leadership role.
• Commercial Awareness: Strong commercial and business development skills with a proven track record of driving growth and profitability.
• Technical Expertise: Deep understanding of subcontract sheet metal work processes, techniques, and industry standards.
• Leadership Skills: Exceptional leadership and team management abilities, with a hands–on approach and the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse workforce.
• Strategic Thinking: Strong strategic thinking and problem–solving skills, with the ability to navigate complex business challenges.
• Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and team members.
