Commercial Director – Highways Division

Primary focus on projects in the north of England. Candidates don't necessarily need to be based in and around Nottingham for this one.

About the Role

As the Commercial Director for a leading infrastructure organization, you will be instrumental in driving commercial success and strategic growth within the Highways Division. Reporting directly to the Commercial Director – Infrastructure, you will lead a team of commercial professionals, overseeing all commercial aspects of projects within the highways sector. Your role will involve maximizing profitability, mitigating risks, ensuring contractual compliance, and fostering strong client relationships while driving business development initiatives.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute commercial strategy for the Highways Division
  • Manage contracts, financial aspects, and risks associated with projects
  • Cultivate and maintain client relationships
  • Lead and motivate a team of commercial professionals
  • Drive business development initiatives
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and governance standards

Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor s degree in a relevant field; Master's degree or professional qualifications preferred
  • Proven track record in senior commercial leadership roles within infrastructure or construction, with focus on highways projects
  • Extensive knowledge of contract management, negotiations, and risk assessment
  • Strong financial acumen and analytical skills
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management abilities
  • Strategic thinking and innovation in a competitive business environment
