My client is a leading engineering business located in the Bedford area they are looking to recruit for a project Managing to join their design and manufacture department working within the Design Team providing technical support and carrying day to day engineering requirements

Key Responsibilities Project Manager – Design and Manufacture

• Facilitate collaboration among project teams to achieve business benefits within a portfolio or program of constituent projects.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for internal client representatives, closely cooperating with project technical managers.
• Provide management with reports and advice.
• Act as the main point of contact with department heads in cases where resource or schedule conflicts arise from projects.
• Capture and manage project requirements and prepare project justification/business case documentation in collaboration with project technical managers and resource managers.
• Comprehend the portfolio or program's risks, resource needs, and schedule constraints, including interactions within the portfolio or program and the broader business.
• Ensure the project baseline is robust, with clear key assumptions and risks, drawing from past project experiences and colleague advice to establish a solid foundation for change management.
• Develop a work breakdown structure and resource estimate with support from technical managers and experts as needed.
• Identify and effectively manage key assumptions and risks, including pricing implications.
• Formulate and execute a communications plan detailing how the team will send, receive, and share information, respecting stakeholder requirements regarding formats, timing, and methods.
• Oversee and control the project, addressing issues with the project team and colleagues and leading change management when necessary.
• Collaborate with the Head of D&M to enhance skills, tools, techniques, and processes within the department.

Qualifications & Requirements Project Manager – Design and Manufacture

• Possession of a university degree or equivalent skills and experience in a challenging engineering or technical field is required.
• While having a project management qualification is advantageous, what matters more is demonstrated experience in handling complex projects, so it shouldn't deter capable candidates. Familiarity with managing project phases like Feasibility Study, FEED, EPC, Commissioning, and handover would be a plus.
• The capability to comprehend technical narratives in unfamiliar disciplines, with guidance from technical experts, is essential.
• Exceptional communication skills, both written and spoken in English, are necessary to ensure that the intended message is clearly and unambiguously understood.
