Exciting opportunity for a Group Tax Manager to join an International Financial Services company

This is a first-time appointment for the organisation who are looking to move their tax function in-house and offer the opportunity to build your own team.

Your new role As a Group Tax Manager, you will report directly into the Finance Director maintain and support the tax strategy of the Group, through engagement with the subsidiary business and key stakeholders from across the organisation. You will ensure the companies tax position is documented, understood and applied consistently across the Group whilst ensuring compliance with the latest tax legislation.

Your responsibilities will include

  • Lead the tax accounting and notes disclosure for the UK annual financial statements of relevant UK and international companies, including effective management of group tax assets, and support the annual audit process.
  • Provide analysis and guidance on tax related issues across both UK and international businesses including advice on acquisitions and disposals, entering into new territories, changes to tax regimes including tonnage tax, and changes in legislation.
  • Lead the Group's transfer pricing strategy including guidance on appropriate strategies, compliance with local requirements and management of the relevant transfer pricing documentation and Country by Country reporting processes.
  • Build relationships and interact with internal stakeholders and manage external stakeholders and advisors to provide value add tax planning, consulting and expertise.
What you'll need to succeed In order top be considered for this role, you will be an experienced corporate tax consultant, and ideally trained within a top-100 accountancy practice. The company will consider first time practice movers, but it is ideal if you have gained some industry based experience as a tax manager. You will be comfortable with handling all elements of corporate tax computations, and be able to offer good tax advice to the finance team and management board when required. The company can take on someone on a part-time basis for this role.
