Description
- Working with a small finance team to ensure the highest levels of accuracy and integrity in the day-to-day processing of financial transactions.
- Lead the production of timely and insightful monthly and quarterly management reporting packs for the company. Preparing financial analysis and commentary of the financial status and performance for the organisation, enabling the right strategic decisions to be taken by the senior leadership team.
- Ensuring the appropriate business and system controls are in place and that they are applied rigorously to ensure the financial integrity of the company is always preserved.
- Monitor and forecast short term cashflow requirements by maintaining a rolling 13-week cashflow projection, proactively planning for investment or for periods when cash might be constrained.
- Support the financial planning cycle by the delivery of accurate and timely budgets/forecasts. Working closely with operational colleagues and heads of department in the development of these budgets.
- Prepare the company for its annual audit. Acting as a point of contact for external auditors, ensuring the efficient conduct of the audit by delivering the required information in the highest quality and to the agreed timeframes.
- Work with the external tax advisers to optimise corporate tax planning and to ensure all compliance obligations are met. Ensure the prompt provision of information to the external tax team to facilitate the annual Corporation Tax return filings.
- Taking a project lead on any finance initiatives and/or wider business projects with finance touch points.
- Support with the implementation of a new financial system (Access Financials), ensuring a smooth transition by ensuring business and financial processes are documented and all staff are well trained.
- Supervise, coach, and support the finance team including recruitment, career development, regular 1-2-1's, and mentoring junior colleagues.
Profile
Essential:
- A qualified Accountant, preferably ACA or CIMA.
- Energetic and highly organised, with ability to prioritise effectively.
- Demonstrable experience of managing all functions of a finance department.
- A sound understanding of financial management and wider leadership principles.
- Strong data analytical skills, high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
- A commitment to continued personal development and the development of direct reports or function for which they have responsibility.
- Proficient in the use of financial management software. Experience with Access Financials (Dimensions) and Meddbase patient administration systems would be highly advantageous.
- Advanced Excel skills and proficient with Microsoft Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
- Able to communicate confidently and effectively at all levels of the business.
Desirable:
- Experience of finance system implementations and enhancements
