Venesky–Brown's client, a public sector organisation in Glasgow, is currently looking to recruit a Senior Finance Manager for an initial 9 month contract with potential to extend on a rate of GBP515/day (Inside of IR35). This role will be based on site. Responsibilities:–Lead and manage engagement from corporate finance perspective with Legacy Portfolio teams to ensure collaboration with projects to support financial information requirements prior to transferring products or services to the organisation. – Provide scrutiny and constructive challenge to support robust financial forecasts for the live running of products and services. – Lead on the corporate finance governance process and represent Corporate Finance at various governance boards to provide specialist advice. – Provide technical finance advice input to governance papers and present to senior stakeholders to inform decision making. – Support various stakeholders across the organisation to identify finance gaps and evaluate inter–dependences, risks and impacts to then propose resolutions and escalate where required. – Support, and facilitate where required, continuous improvement of governance processes to ensure robust financial management. – Work with the wider Corporate Finance team to share knowledge on the complex nature of the Legacy Portfolio and supporting with maintaining a collaborative culture. – Collaborate and engage with stakeholders to develop the understanding of the importance of value for money across the organisation. – Identify assets due to transfer from the organisation's programme, ensuring there are robust processes in place such as a capital asset transfer plan, along with agreed principles to support the transfer of assets. – Work with Programme Finance to analyse capital assets and expenditure, treatment, estimated useful life and compliance with organisation's capital policies. – Identify non–compliant expenditure for further analysis. – Consult specialists' stakeholders to support treatment transfer of assets involving of IT capital expenditure. – Produce recommendations to ensure the organisation's assets are accounted for and managed correctly and that all transfer of assets go through the appropriate governance. – Work closely with Corporate Reporting team to provide information to accept transfer of capital expenditure from Programme, ensuring this meets audit requirements. Essential Skills:– Professionally qualified accountant – CCAB/CIMA professional accountancy body or equivalent with up–to–date CPD. – Significant financial experience in a change environment. – Experience of working in a Programme or Project environment, within the public sector. – Experience of implementing and improving systems or processes and negotiating with stakeholders. – Strong communication & leadership skills, both written and verbal, with a proven ability to explain financial information effectively to non–finance stakeholders and to influence change.
