Head of Financial Accounts

The Head of Financial Accounts is responsible for the performance of the Financial Accounts teams and outsources providers. Reporting to the Chief Financial Accountant.

Head of Financial Accounts Responsibilities

  • Provide senior managers and Directors strategic advice on highly complex financial accounting and cash business issues.
  • Provide senior support to business area Directors in developing and monitoring progress.
  • Lead the development and delivery of the financial strategy and associated plans of the Trust relating to Financial Accounting,
  • The postholder will be the Trust's centre of accounting excellence and the go to point for accounting and tax advice.
  • Proactive management of the Trust's cash position, working capital and loan financing facilities.
  • Coordinating internally and externally the production of the Trust's and Trust Charity annual accounts and their audit and supporting the production of the annual report.
  • Preparing and providing highly complex financial analysis and commentary (including the balance sheet and cash sections of the monthly Board Report) and communicating this effectively to budget holders, staff, auditors, and other stakeholders.

Head of Financial Accounts Key competencies

  • At least 3–5 years in Senior Finance roles
  • Prior experience within the NHS is desirable.

Salary, Working arrangements and extras–

  • Band 8c
  • 2 days working from home.
  • Management of a Financial and Systems Accountant
  • Based in the London Bridge Area
  • Government pension scheme
