Responsibilities:
- Revenue and receivables (clients: reviewing client agreements to ensure accuracy of billing; updating our revenue tracking system; preparing/reviewing month end and ad hoc billing; debtor review and management)
- Purchases and payables (suppliers: maintenance of details and payment terms, managing business owner approval of payments, preparation of payment runs, and appropriate allocation of costs in line with budget; employees: management and approval of expense claims and corporate credit cards)
- Payroll (co–ordination of changes with our people team and reconciliation of any changes sent to our payroll provider)
- Budget/forecast and business partnering (supporting the budget and forecasting process regarding revenue, headcount and opex requests, and partnering with the budget owners to help them understand their numbers)
- Reporting (monthly management accounts, annual financial statements and audit management, quarterly and annual FCA reporting, and quarterly and annual HMRC returns)
- Taxation (Corporate, VAT, and R&D)
Skills required:
- Qualified accountant (CA / ACCA / CIMA)
- Audit experience and understanding of the risk–based audit approach, internal control and substantive testing, preferably qualified through audit and having managed audit at assistant manager level
- Experience in Financial Services, particularly in an FCA–regulated environment, and/or Private Equity
- Ability to interact with all levels across the organisation including senior management
- Advanced level Microsoft Excel skills
- Action orientated and pro–active: you get things done, when you say you will
- Intellectually curious and willing to go outside your comfort zone to get involved in projects across the business
- Flexible and adaptable, understanding that the needs of a high–growth business do not follow a linear path
- A clear communicator: able to distil complex concepts and detailed information and make it accessible for others
