Job Description

The firm are currently seeking a motivated and talented Newly Qualified Planning Solicitor to join their growing team in Leeds. This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive individual who is looking to build a successful career in planning law. As a Planning Solicitor, you will work on a variety of planning matters, providing legal advice, drafting documents, and representing clients in planning-related disputes.

Responsibilities:
  • Providing legal advice and guidance to clients on all aspects of planning law
  • Assisting clients in the preparation and submission of planning applications and appeals
  • Conducting legal research to support cases and staying up to date with relevant legislation and regulations
  • Drafting and reviewing legal documents, including planning agreements, section 106 agreements, and related contracts
  • Representing clients in planning inquiries, hearings, and court proceedings
  • Collaborating with other members of the legal team and external stakeholders to ensure the best possible outcome for clients
  • Building and maintaining strong client relationships and actively seeking opportunities for business development
Qualifications and Skills:
  • Qualified solicitor with a focus on planning law, having completed the Legal Practice Course (LPC) or equivalent
  • Newly qualified solicitor or up to two years post-qualification experience in planning law
  • Strong knowledge of planning legislation, regulations, and procedures
  • Excellent analytical, research, and problem-solving skills
  • Effective verbal and written communication abilities, with the capability to present complex legal concepts clearly and concisely
  • Good attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
  • Proactive and self-motivated, with a strong commitment to providing exceptional client service
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment
