Director of Airports and International – 12 Months FTC

Reporting of the role

This role reports to Director of Trading – Outdoor

Overview of job

The purpose of the role is to lead the Airport / International sales team in London that focuses on revenue generation across media agencies & specialists on Global's Airport portfolio and wider portfolio for International business arriving into the UK.

Measures of success –

In the first few months, you would have:

  • Worked in conjunction with the trading director and wider Airports team to produce a short and Long term plan for Airports and International team.
  • Met with the key customers externally and clearly identified the challenges they face and have an action plan to address key issues to ensure that Global Outdoor are in the strongest place possible to take maximum share.
  • Clear understanding of the profitability across the Airport estate to fully understand the effects of sales and a clear trading strategy to improve sales on the most profitable estate.
  • Met with our key franchise partners for introductions via our Partnerships team. As a lead role in Airports for the commercial team you will have regular contact with them.
  • Review all sales collateral and sales tools and have a plan to address any key areas that are missing or need improvements.
  • Presented to the wider commercial sales team on Airports & International team and detailing ways of working.

Responsibilities of the role

  • Set and implement the vision for our key airport estate to ensure that Global take a consistently high share of all Airport revenue.
  • Ensure that the Airport and International Specialist team deliver upon all sales targets.
  • Ownership of senior relationships at key Specialist international sales teams & Airport key contacts.
  • Actively seek out and deliver new revenue streams working collaboratively with our partnerships division.
  • Representing commercial as a senior figure in all Airports and partnerships meetings internally and with our partners externally.
  • Working alongside the Trading Director to ensure that we have a clear trading strategy for all our assets in every Airport.
  • Working with marketing to ensure that we have outstanding collateral for all our Airport assets.
  • Communication of our Airport strategy to the wider sales team ensuring they have full understanding of our Airport portfolio, and we are improving our sales efforts.
  • Detailed understanding of the wider Airport market ensuring that senior individuals within the commercial team are aware of developments, and we are ahead of trends at all times.
  • Evaluating future wins and asset developments providing a commercial view to advise and develop future strategies and key decisions.

What you will need

The ideal candidate will be proactive and willing to develop and implement innovative solutions, capable of the following:

  • Proven sales Leadership experience ideally with the OOH environment for International / Airports.
  • Proven track record to mentor and develop successful sales teams.
  • Track record in developing product & Sales strategies clearing being able to demonstrate clear and successful implementation of strategy.
  • Able to deliver senior client relationships
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • High achiever being able to demonstrate ability to work independently and also as part of a senior sales team.
  • Used to working in a fast–paced sales environment
  • Creative thinker
  • Ability to lead and can clearly demonstrate that you can inspire and empower a sales team.
  • Detailed understanding of the wider media landscape.
