Marks Sattin are delighted to be working alongside a highly-acquisitive, property business to help appoint a Financial Accountant.

Responsibilities:

Financial Accounting
  • Managing and monitoring the key transactional processes (e AP, AR, Payroll) within the allocated portfolio of companies.
  • Accurate and timely preparation of annual financial statements in line with FRS102 (or equivalent).
  • Lead the annual audit process and preparation of supporting schedules, reconciliations and financial reports.
  • Ensuring reconciliation of balance sheet accounts are carried out a on a monthly basis, including bank accounts. intercompany accounts, control accounts to sub-ledgers and supplier statements.

Financial Management, Reporting and Analysis
  • Delivering and presenting high standard financial and management reports (including the monthly management accounts) to the senior team and shareholders and providing insightful information to the business that will support decision making.
  • Collecting, interpreting, and reviewing information and data (KPI's) on the financial position and performance of the businesses so as to identify areas for potential improvement.
  • Preparing, reviewing, monitoring and managing budgets and cash flow forecasts.
  • Detailed variance analysis of actuals vs. budgets and forecasts.
  • Meet all Group Financial reporting requirement.

Financial control & compliance
  • Preparation and submission of local tax returns and compliance on a timely basis.
  • Establishing and maintaining financial policies and procedures for the businesses allocated.
  • Ensuring the use of Sage, WAP, PT-X, Onestream and other business system is optimised from the perspectives of process efficiency, financial control and business effectiveness.
  • Strengthening financial controls across the business allocated including ensuring balance sheet integrity and proposing methods to minimise financial risk to those businesses.
  • Improving & documenting existing and developing new procedures to improve the control environment of allocated businesses especially around the integrity of new suppliers setup, changes to those suppliers and legitimacy of payments made.

Key Skills:
  • Hold a Chartered Accountant qualification (CIMA, ACA or ACCA).
  • Highly computer literate.
  • IT Skills to lead, process and reporting developments to achieve key tasks, and to give the business a sound reporting base.
  • Produced financial and management accounts for SME businesses either in industry or practice.
  • Experience working in Financial Accounting.
  • Has used analytical skills to provide financial information to business leaders.
