We are working in partnership with an internationally-renowned law firm that is presently searching for a skilled IP Solicitor with 3-6 years' post-qualification experience to join its prestigious intellectual property team based in Leeds. The team is widely recognised for its specialisation and success in handling complex intellectual property cases.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with a diverse range of clients across various industries and jurisdictions, providing legal guidance on all aspects of Intellectual Property. This includes patents, trademarks, copyright, designs, passing off, database rights, and confidential information.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a caseload of contentious and non-contentious IP matters, advising clients on IP litigation and disputes across IP rights, and drafting and negotiating IP agreements. Experience with trade mark and design prosecution and maintenance is a bonus. Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a caseload of contentious and non-contentious IP matters
- Draft and negotiate IP agreements, including assignments, licences, confidentiality agreements, and research and development agreements
- Advise clients on IP litigation and disputes across IP rights
- Clear, register, and maintain trade marks and designs internationally
- 3-6 years' post-qualification experience as a UK (England, Wales or Scotland) solicitor, working in IP law
- Experience with IP litigation and disputes across IP rights
- Experience with drafting and negotiating IP agreements
- Experience with trade mark and design prosecution and maintenance is a bonus
- Proactive attitude to work, commercial pragmatism, and a strong team ethos
- Ability to demonstrate skills in delegation and supervision at this level
