Conrad Consulting are delighted to be working with one of the UK's, and indeed the world's, most prominent Architectural practices, seeking a Senior Architectural Associate Director to join their offices in Newark, Nottinghamshire.

The Practice

The practice are one of the world's leading Architectural firms, with approximately 500 people working within the company worldwide. With offices in the UK, China, Singapore and the United States, the practice offer a truly global service encompassing a broad range of sectors and project types. Projects generally tend to be huge in both size and value, covering areas and sectors such as; Airports, large scale Commercial and Mixed Use, Leisure, Workplaces, and multi storey Residential buildings. Offering services across the whole Architectural spectrum including; Masterplanning, Urban Design, Landscape and Interiors.

The Role – Senior Associate Director

The role on offer is for an experienced Architect with at least 10–15 years of post qualification experience, to join the practice as a Senior Associate Director. The position of Senior Associate Director is a role with responsibilities that will see you running/managing projects, leading teams, developing junior level staff, developing and maintaining client relationships, and being involved in budget control. You will have two Associate Directors reporting to you, so it is essential for you to have experience in general office management.

The practice work in a myriad of sectors on projects in both the UK and abroad, in areas such as the Middle East, meaning the Associate Director will be exposed to a rich variety of interesting and challenging projects. The individual stepping into this position will be a key person in the Newark office, with roles & responsibilities including the following:

  • Project Management – managing teams across UK & internationally based projects to deliver design & technical excellence. Planning, coordinating and managing the project process. Leading project meetings and client presentations, acting as primary contact for client interaction.
  • Leadership – leading, guiding and training junior talent in the company, providing constructive feedback to continue their development.
  • Client Relationships – being a key client contact and being able to develop and maintain client relationships. Assisting in the preparation of fee bids and undertake fee proposals and negotiations for projects.
  • Budget Control – Demonstrating a sound understanding of cost control, fee charging and project finance.

Qualifications, Experienced and Skills Required

  • Fully qualified Architect with UK recognised Part 1, 2 and 3 qualifications.
  • ARB registration and RIBA accredited (desirable)
  • Approximately 10–15 years of post qualification experience, ideally operating at Senior or Associate level currently.
  • Experience of leading and managing large scale international projects across the UK and ideally internationally.
  • Strong organisation and people management skills.
  • Working knowledge of Revit software would be beneficial
  • Leadership and management experience.

Salary and Package

In return, the Senior Associate Director will receive a salary and benefits package that will include the following:

  • 60,000– 70,000
