Private Client Solicitor (Head of Department), West Sussex - An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Private Client Solicitor to head up and manage this established firm's Private Client department.
JOB TITLE: Private Client Solicitor (Head of Department) PQE: 5+ LOCATION: West Sussex SALARY: £60,000+ DOE
THE ROLE: The firm is looking for a dynamic and ambitious individual to leave its Private Client department, which consists of 12 staff (7 fee-earners and 5 support staff). You will need to be running your own caseload but have responsibility of managing and running the department, and play a vital role in bringing out the very best of your team with enthusiasm, drive, team spirit and a genuine belief in providing the best service for your clients. You will be covering the following Private Client areas: probate, wills, Powers of Attorney, Deputyship applications, assisting the elderly client and trusts and estate planning. The successful Private Client Solicitor (Head of Department) will also hold monthly departmental meetings to discuss business development/marketing ideas, targets, new matters and workload and encourage your team to achieve monthly targets (both individual and departmental). The successful candidate will be able to apply for Directorship after their 3-month probationary period as Head of Department.
THE CANDIDATE: The appointed Private Client Solicitor (Head of Department) will be a qualified fee-earner (Solicitor or CILEX) with a minimum of 5 years' PQE. You will ideally have experience of managing staff and STEP qualification would be an advantage (but not essential). Demonstrable background in all relevant Private Client matters is essential together with being an enthusiastic and passionate solicitor with an empathetic approach but can keep a clear focus on developing a practical and straightforward solution.
