Finance Director

We are looking for a highly experienced and motivated Finance Director to support a growing SME biologicals/chemicals business with their ambitious international growth agenda. The successful candidate will play a critical role in driving the financial strategy and operational efficiency for the company. As a key member of the senior management team, the FD/CFO will report directly to the MD and work closely with other executives to ensure the long-term success of the business.

Responsibilities include:

• Developing and implement financial strategies that align with the company's goals and objectives
• Oversee financial reporting, accounting, budgeting, and forecasting activities
• Manage cash flow, investments, and capital structure to maximize returns
• Implement and manage financial systems and processes to improve efficiency and accuracy
• Ensure compliance with all financial and regulatory requirements
• Build a high performing finance team that is fit for purpose as the business grows
• Leading the international expansion of the business
• Working with the MD and other senior executives to identify and evaluate potential strategic growth opportunities
• Manage relationships with external investors & lead fundraising opportunities

Experience Includes:

• A fully qualified CFO / Finance Director / FD either ACA, ACCA, or CIMA
• A track record in a senior financial management roles
• Experience in building a finance function from scratch or fixing an underperforming finance function
• Experience of building robust fit-for-purpose teams, and professionalising businesses
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Strategic thinker with the ability to drive results and lead change
• Experience raising finance for rapid business growth
• Experience dealing with international/global trade
