The Company:

Our client is a leading light in this high growth property related sector. With offices in Bristol and internationally, they are looking to appoint a Group Finance Manager. Key objectives of the role:

The Group Finance Manager will be a key point of contact between the central finance team and the finance teams in the subsidiary businesses, directing, influencing and supporting the teams in all areas of financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting, technical accounting, finance systems optimisation, and financial controls and processes.

Role responsibilities:

  • Group reporting: manage the month–end reporting process, improving the quality of reporting and commentary from the businesses and driving efficiency in the reporting process
  • Budgeting & forecasting: lead the budgeting and forecasting process, putting in place appropriate timetables for preparation, review and approval and ensuring consistency with longer–term business plans
  • Accounting policies: assist with the drafting and implementation of appropriate accounting policies, ensuring clarity and consistency across the business
  • Audit: act as the key point of contact for the central audit process and provide support to the businesses in the completion of their local audits
  • Technical accounting: act as the point person for technical accounting queries and best practice across the group
  • Processes & controls: work with the businesses on the development and continuous improvement of finance processes and controls that provide an appropriate level of protection to the business
  • Finance systems: promote the efficient and consistent use of finance systems across the group, automating processes where possible and encouraging the sharing of best practice between the businesses
  • Compliance: tracking compliance across the business to ensure that all reporting and filing requirements are met
  • Ad hoc projects: leading and supporting on a wide variety of projects across the group, partnering with other finance teams and non–finance colleagues
  • Group FC support: supporting the Group FC on other tasks and projects as appropriate

Experience & knowledge requirements:

  • Qualified accountant
  • Experience of working in a global environment, ideally within real estate, although this is not critical
  • Strong and up–to–date technical accounting knowledge
  • Experience of managing reporting, budgeting and forecasting processes
  • Experience of managing and supporting external audits
  • Finance systems experience – either implementation or continuous improvement
  • First class oral and written communication
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel
  • Excellent written and spoken English

Location: Bristol

Remuneration: IRO GBP70,000 – GBP90,000pa plus benefits
