Job Description: Aerospace Programme Manager

Role Outline

The Aerospace Programme Manager will be a core member of the ADS aerospace team, supporting the aerospace director and the aerospace team in the delivery of key aerospace activities and programmes in line with ADS business plan.

The Aerospace Programme Manager will manage key programmes of work across ADS group and the Aerospace Growth Partnership (AGP), including project management and delivery of key work packages, supporting business development, driving member engagement, facilitation of working groups, and supporting the development of policy and thought leadership across areas such as sustainability, innovation, supply chain, and skills.

The role holder is expected to be able to work from the ADS London office up to 3 days a week.

Role Responsibilities

The Aerospace Programme Manager will:

  • Support the ADS aerospace sector director and the aerospace team in the delivery of the aerospace business plan.
  • Work with the aerospace director and the ADS aerospace team and the aerospace policy lead in identifying and delivering thought leadership content of benefit to aerospace members.
  • Support ADS Special Interest Groups and AGP working group activities, driving a coherent set of activities and deliverables across ADS and the AGP.
  • Work with the aerospace team to drive member engagement and support member requirements.
  • Project / programme manage key work packages to plan, ensuring timely completion of activities.
  • Support industry seniors across ADS special interest groups and AGP working groups in working groups to deliver set objectives and outcomes.
  • Support member engagement, policy development and delivery of key ADS and AGP events.

Reporting Structure

The role directly reports to the ADS Aerospace Director

Skills & Competencies

  • Comprehensive understanding of the aerospace sector, including opportunities and challenges for the sector in the UK and globally.
  • Awareness of policy landscape and priorities for the sector in the UK, in areas including sustainability, innovation, supply chain and people and skills.
  • Awareness of ADS and its support to the sector, including its role in sector partnerships.
  • Experience in programme and project management with ability to deliver complex programmes of work to plan.
  • Ability to communicate, engage with, and support senior industry and government stakeholders.
  • Self–starter and a highly motivated team player.
  • Awareness and experience of using Prince 2 project management practices or other recognised project management told and techniques would be beneficial.
