Interim Financial Controller for a great charity in Birmingham

Your new role
Your role is to support the CEO in the delivery a financially and environmentally sustainable approach to our services.
This role is to oversee the full financial remit for the organisation and you will be responsible for a team of 2 finance staff as well as some outsourced finance services.
You will collaborate with senior management, funders and other stakeholders. You will be responsible for improving finance process and systems, enhancing the control environment.
Tasks
Producing the monthly management accounts, regular forecasts and other key performance indicators.
To lead in the budget setting process, liaising with the Director of Resources, Chief Executive and Board of Trustees to consider strategic objectives and working closely with all operational managers on the preparation of detailed departmental budgets
To lead in the production of statutory annual accounts, liaising with auditors, Trustees and SMT members as required
To ensure the charity meets all its obligations regarding reports and returns to statutory bodies including HMRC, Companies House and the Charity Commission.
What you'll need to succeed
Ideally you will be a qualified accountant or Qualified by experience
Self starter and able to come into the role and run with it
Strong communication skills
Leadership skills
The accounting package is Sage and there is scope to improve how the organisation uses the full capabilities of the package
What you'll get in return
A good date rate of between 250-300 p/ay
