Assistant Director of Highways & Waste

We're working with a council in the East Midlands to recruit for an Assistant Director of Highways and Waste for a 12 week contract.

You'll be responsible for leading and implementing integrated transport and sustainable waste strategies, delivering the council's Integrated Transport Strategy and Active Travel focusing on the decarbonisation and sustainability strategy. You'll be working with other council's in the Borough on the completion of the procurement and implementation of a new Highways contract and new Waste and Recycling contracts. You will also be responsible for transforming the highways and waste services from the council's previous model into their new model.

To be considered for this you'll need a proven track record at a senior management level within the same or similar services and proven experience of managing large scale contracts. If you have a wide network of contacts from the public and private sectors, ideally at both a local and national level, then that would be advantageous.

This is a hybrid role, you'll be able to work from home but will also be required to travel to site for meetings. This role is 12 weeks initially but is expected to go on for a lot longer than this. The client haven't specified a rate as they haven't recruited a contractor to this role previously, so please let me know what daily rate you are looking for. This role is inside IR35 so please account for that when quoting a rate.
