The role
As a Training Capability Programme Manager you'll be responsible for delivering programmes of activity which include transformation projects delivering alignment and maturity across our training business unit.

They will be responsible for day–to–day programme management, management of risk, benefits, preparing board packs, ensuring communication with key stakeholders is frequent and that relationships with both operations and future business are positively maintained.

The role will also more generally support the delivery of capability across the business, attending key meetings, preparing operational review packs and supporting standalone projects which will both be internal and customer facing.

Day to day, you'll:

  • Manage and oversee the training innovation and capability programme
  • Provide timely progress updates to internal and external stakeholders
  • Ensure adherence to governance processes
  • Ensure projects are appropriately resourced
  • Ensure project managers / leads provide sufficient documentation and updates throughout the project lifecycle
  • Ensure that all critical projects are aligned to Group and Sector strategy, enabling business growth and training capability development
  • Mitigate delays and unblock challenges where required
  • Liaise with and report to commercial and finance teams regularly to ensure meeting budgetary and commercial requirements
  • Assist training capability team in identifying, executing and implementing business critical training capabilities through rigorous end–to–end project management
  • Promote collaboration across the business
  • Ensure best practices are identified and codified through business processes and practices
  • Contribute to and review team purpose, vision and strategy

Essential experience of the Training Capability Programme Manager,

  • Project management experience
  • Experience in developing communications plans, and stakeholder engagement activities
  • Experience of managing and reporting on risk
  • Experience of generating programme reporting packs
  • Experience in managing work on PM software such Microsoft PM
  • Advanced IT skills, including but not limited to MS Office, SharePoint, MS TeamsThe role offers hybrid working (majority working from home) with occasional travels to the sites across UK.

You must hold or have ability to obtain SC security clearance

This role is based at Andover with travel to other training sites – Maternity cover until January 2024

Qualifications for the Training Capability Programme Manager,

  • APM or equivalent project management qualification
  • UK driving license
