Head of Production Engineering

Head of Production Engineering required. Bennett and Game are currently representing a well–established manufacturer of Industrial and Decorative coatings. This role will see the candidate responsible for the operation of the laboratory and production departments, train and instruct more junior members of staff in line with company policy and help drive home the projects within the company. The ideal candidate would come from a Manufacturing background and have experience managing other staff members and have experience with batch manufacturing. Must be based within a commutable distance of Nottingham.

Head of Production Engineering Position Overview

• Responsible for the management of the production floor, including the optimisation and efficiency and repeatability of production operations.
• To manage and minimalize the risk associated within the production, and plan and address the risks within the business.
• To ensure all employees are adhering to Health and Safety standards, internal and external audits and make sure all employees are following company rules.
• To manage and create risk assessments and hold responsibility for Safe Operation Procedures, DSEAR, COSHH and PPE.
• In charge of Maintenance and upkeep of company building and ensure company are following policy for building utilities, LEV's, Asbestos and Drainage.
• Implement and deploy company training and success plans in line with the department's needs.
• Responsible for new materials and suppliers and ensure all materials are stored safely and in line with company guidelines

Head of Production Engineering Position Requirements

• Experience in a Manufacturing Management role.
• Experience with batch manufacturing in a Chemical environment is advantageous.
• Qualified in an Engineering Discipline, ideally Chemical or Mechanical.
• HSE Qualification, or proven background working with ISO9001, 14001 & 45001.
• Product knowledge of the Paint and Coatings industry advantageous.
• Experience with performance management KPI's such as HSE, Quality, Production, Costs, Efficiency and Development.
• Maintenance knowledge and an understanding of the maintenance plans being implemented by employees.
• Experience with HR policies and an understanding of how they are best implemented.
• Full UK driving license.
