We are looking for an outstanding Director to join the council and lead the delivery and ongoing improvement of our high public profile universal services for residents. With 52 libraries and the registration of over 18,000 births a year, we have some of the largest and highest volume services of any local authority in the country.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to set the strategic direction for our services and ensure that they deliver the highest quality of customer experience whilst meeting statutory, regulatory, and wider requirements. You will champion our approach to customer and communities, and use customer data and insights to drive operational efficiency and effectiveness.

At Surrey County Council, we believe in the power of collaboration and teamwork. As the Director of Customer Delivery, you will have the support of a dedicated and talented team who share your passion for customer service and transformation.

You will work closely with colleagues across the organisation to drive the design, engagement, delivery, and embedding of our customer operating model. You will also have the chance to support the overall shift in the relationship the council has with its residents from 'doing to' to 'doing with', enabling communities to drive local action. You will collaborate with external partners and stakeholders to position and connect our operational services to deliver wider organisational objectives including greener futures, economic growth, and tackling health inequalities; ultimately positively impacting our residents and communities.

To succeed in this role, you will need a successful track record of delivering high volume and high profile customer–focused services and of meeting statutory and regulatory requirements. You will be a strategic thinker with excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join our team and make a real difference to the lives of our residents. If you are ready to take on this challenge, we would love to hear from you!
