Job description:

Burman Recruitment are working with a university in the Midlands area who is seeking an experienced and dynamic Director of Estates to lead and manage the capital projects of the campus. As the Director of Estates, you will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies for managing the estate, ensuring that it meets the needs of the university community, and overseeing the delivery of all capital projects and operations.

Skills required:

• Develop and implement strategies for managing the university estate, ensuring that it meets the needs of the university community and complies with all relevant regulations and legislation.
• Lead and manage all capital projects, from inception to completion, ensuring that they are delivered on time, within budget, and to a high quality.
• Build strong relationships with key stakeholders, including senior leadership, academic staff, students, contractors, and external partners.
• Develop and maintain a strategic asset management plan that supports the long–term sustainability of the estate.
• Manage and oversee the estates team, ensuring that they are motivated, well–trained, and equipped to deliver the highest quality service to the university community.
• Ensure that all estate–related risks are identified and managed effectively, and that appropriate controls and procedures are in place to manage those risks.
• Continuously monitor and review the effectiveness of the estate management strategy, making recommendations for improvements where necessary.
• Provide regular reports to senior leadership on the performance of the estates team and the progress of capital projects.
