Our client, a leading national brand, is looking for an experience Business Analysis Manager to lead the business analysis function for a period of 12 months, working with the business and the technology team to investigate and analyse business problems and opportunities and to help determine solutions which meet business objectives.

The Business Analysis Manager will act as the lead for the business analyst function, including line management, coaching and development of Business Analysts as well as setting and driving improvements in the companys business analysis standards and practices and managing the business analysis workload and pipeline.

Rate: GBP550 Per Day Outside IR35
Location: Letchworth Garden City (Hybrid) As and when needed in the office

Duration: 12 months

The Business Analysis Manager will work to understand, document and analyse the business context, processes and systems relating to a business problem or opportunity, elicit and capture business requirements, define optimised future business processes and work with architecture colleges to design future solutions, with a strong emphasis on delivering modern, efficient and compelling customer and user experiences.

Working with colleagues across the business, including Technology, this role will take ownership of assessing the business value of an initiative and support the preparation of the business case.

The key duties and responsibilities fall into six domains:

  • Understanding Business Needs: Engage with the business to understand the context, business goals and needs surrounding a problem or opportunity, eliciting and documenting high level and detailed requirements.
  • Business Process Analysis & Design: Engage with the business to model and analyse as is and design optimised to be processes.
  • Customer & User Experience: Capture as is and to be customer journeys and using broad experience of modern technology and CX/UX design practices, ensure proposed solutions offer modern, efficient and compelling customer and user experiences.
  • Business Value Assessment & Business Case Creation: work with the business through various stages of the analysis phase to assess, document and articulate the potential business value of a proposed change.
  • Engagement & Leadership: lead the business analysis function and work closely with colleagues across the architecture & wider Technology teams, and the business, to ensure solutions are designed to, and are subsequently delivered to, meet the business needs.
  • Standards & Governance: advocate and adhere to our Technology principles, guidelines and standards, establishing and maintaining these for the business analysis function.
Skills and knowledge requirements
  • Significant, demonstrable experience of eliciting business requirements and converting requirements into functional specifications with acceptance criteria.
  • Demonstrable experience of modelling business processes and customer journeys, including the ability to identify and persuade others to adopt, process improvements including efficiency and experience.
  • Demonstrable ability to quantify resource requirements and measure and communicate proposed project benefits.
  • Demonstrable skills at user experience design.
  • Strong risk assessment, problem resolution, negotiation, and influencing skills.
  • Ability to engage both developers and business partners to achieve target outcomes.
  • Highly influential in the organisation and a real team player.
  • Significant analytic ability, working with data to identify patterns, using judgements to form conclusions which may challenge conventional wisdom and focusing on the crux of an issue.
  • Highly effective communication skills (verbal and written) to convey complex technical business issues to diverse audiences and project a highly credible, polished image in presentations and communications.
  • Team leadership skills including coaching & development and workload management.
