Financial Controller - Real Estate - OUR CLIENT is an established privately owned investment and asset management group in the Real Estate Investment and Private Equity space. The group is dynamic and expansive and is seeking to potentially double its multi-billion AUM over the next 5 years. They have solely instructed us to help them find an experienced and driven Financial Controller to ensure control of their financial systems and processes.

THE ROLE: The Financial Controller will be responsible for:
  • Ensuring all accounting, tax and reporting matters are completed when due.
  • Preparing reports on all assets under management to the relevant investing parties.
  • Maintaining all loan covenant reports and ensuring compliance on all loan facilities for assets under management.
  • Assisting the Fund Controller in managing the financial aspects of the investments under management.
  • Preparing quarterly board pack, comprising profit and loss, balance sheet, cashflow, forecasts and commentary against budget and forecast.
  • Preparing the statutory annual financial statements and supervising the annual audit.
  • Assisting in preparation of annual budgets, and quarterly forecasts.
  • Completing the management and investor reporting.
  • Coordinating annual audit processes and overseeing local accountants in preparation of subsidiary annual accounts.
  • Preparing VAT returns and assembling data for corporation tax calculations.
  • Providing financial support by reviewing operational issues.
  • Assisting in preparation of investment performance and fund performance reporting.
  • Assisting and reporting to the Senior Fund Controller and CFO.
THE PERSON REQUIREMENTS:
  • Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA or equivalent) with 2-3 years' post-qualification experience.
  • A keen eye for detail with strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Experienced in setting up reporting processes and driving through improvements in control.
  • Possess drive and initiative, being able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work on a variety of tasks meeting multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Have strong project management skills and the ability to prioritise accordingly.
  • Excellent communication skills, able to build up productive relationships with a range of stakeholders internally and externally.
  • MRI QUBE or YARDI (or similar) system knowledge would be a value add.
