Business Development Manager Salary cGBP35000.00 DOE plus Car allowanceLocation: Field–Based – Territory Area: M4 Corridor to M5 (Swindon, Bath, Bristol & South Gloucestershire) & WiltshireOur Client is searching for afield–based Account Manager role to look after existing and win new business within Territory. The ideal candidate will achieve and exceed sales and cash margin targets and open new profitable accounts. You will need to identify category gaps, set objectives, and successfully secure new sales to existing customers maximising average drop.Key responsibilities:

  • Achieve sales and margin targets based on a commercial, budgeted plan
  • Win / retain profitable new business, grow retained customer sales and margins
  • Ensure regular customer contact to achieve targets with planned objectives
  • Work with internal departments and suppliers to maximise sales and margins
  • Drive agreed company campaigns and support the sales
  • Work closely with your Telesales colleagues to ensure compliance
  • Work closely with your retention and delivery of company campaigns
  • Understand your defined geographical area portfolio and each customer of sales, margin and customer performance v targets utilising available tools (such as Vecta).
  • Ensure relevant administrative and reporting requirements are fulfilled
  • Maintain a sufficient number of new prospect and pipeline opportunities
  • Ensure sales targets are achieved and exceeded

Essential Skills and experience:

  • You will have experience and a proven track record of account management
  • Experience prospecting new accounts within the foodservice sector – winning and growing new business, retention, gross margin and sales growth
  • Product knowledge and awareness
  • Organised, planned, PC literate able to work to targets, deadlines and under pressure
  • A real "people person" with excellent communication and customer service skills
  • A customer–oriented approach to account management which aims to exceed expectations
  • Excellent relationship building and negotiation skills
  • Sound commercial awareness and business acumen
