Head of Research Strategy & Interpretation

You will have oversight of an innovative programme of work overseeing global data collation and statistics to help shape research into prevention and survival of cancer through lifestyle changes.

The client are an innovative and influential organisation leading research to support with prevention and better–survival of life–debilitating conditions, namely cancer.

Description

As a Head of Research based in London you will lead a tea of two direct reports to deliver on the following:

• Providing strategic oversight and direction of the organisations flagship programme into cancer research
• Act as a spokesperson on science–related media activities, working with the comms team to determine ways to better utilise the science and media aspects of the programme
• Develop and manage timelines, bringing together and aligning multiple work areas of complex projects
• Oversee / prepare scientific papers as required
• Act as a link between multi–functional internal departments (e.g. Public Affairs, Health info, Fundraising etc

The role is based in London, however offers a hybrid and flexible style of working

Profile

To be successful you will have:

• PhD in relevant subject area (eg cancer biology, epidemiology or related)
• Proven understanding of evidence synthesis, along with experience in systematic reviews and meta–analysis
• Strong understanding of epidemiology as applied to nutrition and/or cancer
• Organisational abilities with experience managing and coordinating complex scientific projects, including timelines and budgets
• The ability to work effectively and collaboratively with a range of stakeholders and collaborators, including KoL, academic institutions and leading experts
• Line management experience highly desired!
