On behalf of this organisation, AMS are looking for a Chief Operating Officer (COO/CAO) for a Maternity cover contract based in their office in London.

Purpose of the Role:

  • To work on behalf of the UK Deputy Head of Global Markets with the Global Markets front office teams, GM COO teams, the UK Functions and UK Country Management to provide an efficient and robust governance framework, to facilitate the day to day role of the UK Deputy Head of Global Markets and to contribute directly to Global Markets business development and its sound operation.
  • The role covers Global Markets activities with a UK Nexus – activities conducted by GM from and through London Branch

As a Chief Operating Officer you will be responsible for:

  • Represent and support Global Markets management lines:
  • Support the UK Deputy Head of Global Markets on key topics related to:
  • –UK Governance
  • –Operational and control issues, including financial security
  • –Regulatory engagement
  • –Resilience and BCP
  • –UK Growth Plan and UK clients business development
  • Ensure the proper preparation, execution and follow–up of GM UK Governance meetings (e.g. GM UK EXCO, GM UK CORE – Conduct & Operational Risk Committee, CIB UK ICC, London Branch Executive Committee (LBEC), Short Selling committee) where relevant
  • Act as a delegate for the UK Deputy Head of Global Markets on UK Committees where relevant (e.g. CIB UK ICC, PRA Remediation committees, UK Smart OpCo)
  • Act as a contributor, key point of contact, sponsor or sponsor delegate on various UK–based initiatives (e.g. regulatory programmes, remediation initiatives, cost optimisation / other projects)
  • Manage the relationship with the UK Functions on behalf of the UK Deputy Head of Global Markets
  • Manage the GM UK 'Space Management' team efficiently:
  • Day–to–day management of team
  • Mentor and train staff to develop a broad skillset relevant to their medium and long term career development
  • Contribute to forming a strong partnership with GM COOs/BMs/CCCO teams

What we require from the candidate:

  • Previous Experience within a COO or CAO role within another Investment Bank or similar institution
  • Previous experience within the Global Markets function
