The Client: A globally renowned commodities trading and investing firm
The Location: London
The Opportunity: They are looking for a qualified accountant to report into the Head of Finance, joining a team of six. The role takes you away from the mundane financial reporting responsibilities, instead you would take a focus on helping to grow the controls processes, giving you wider commercial exposure to the group.

The firm is looking for someone who is keen to drive process improvement and bring perspective of where they can improve their controls as well as working on a variety of other accounting and finance tasks.

The Responsibilities:
- Giving insight within the accounting/ finance function of control weakness and owning the process improvement relating to these
- Consulting on accounting policy as it relates to new corporate or trading transactions
- Ownership of certain product trading flows during month end management reporting deadlines, including liaising with front and middle office to resolve any issues found
- Participation in key finance change projects and identifying any process improvements to drive efficiency and effectiveness of the team
- Preparation of standard and ad hoc financial reports and analysis for senior executives, stakeholders and board members to inform and aid decision making
The Requirements:
- Qualified (ACA, ACCA or equivalent) chartered accountant
- Experience testing controls/ documenting controls within a Company with sophisticated processes
- Big 4 or Top 6 is desirable
- Commodities experience is desirable but not essential
