The Opportunity:
For this Finance Manager position, you will primarily managing a small finance of four. This is a small central team consisting of a Finance Officer and two Finance Assistants.
Some of the key responsibilities for this successful person would be but no limited to:
- Reporting directly into the Chief Financial Officer, you will provide an effective central finance service, managing a small finance team whilst overseeing all of accounting
- You will be responsible for producing monthly management accounts for the trust, its academies and associated trading activities
- You will oversee all month end processes and reconcile balance sheet accounts
- Manage month–end schedules within the finance team
- Monthly (outsourced) payroll for reconciliation reporting
- Support in the production of audit files for external auditors
- Supporting on month end duties including the reconciliation of control accounts
- Supporting preparation of monthly VAT returns for trust and limited company
The Candidate:
The successful Finance Manager will be/have:
- Part Qualified or Qualified Accountant – (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or CIPFA)
- OPEN on Industry, but probably suit a person from a Service industry background
- Great if you have working knowledge of Iris Financial, but definitely NOT essential
- Competent using Microsoft Excel at an intermediate level
- Knowledge of IMP software (budgeting) that would be terrific, but again NOT essential
- Excellent interpersonal skills and comfortable building relationships with colleagues and senior leaders
- Ability to evaluate the effectiveness of systems of internal control and developing the reporting framework across a group will be a distinct advantage
