Head of Facilities & Maintenance.

GBP70,000 – GBP80,000 per annum plus car allowance, Very competitive target bonus, Enhanced Pension, Private Medical, Life Assurance x 3 annual salary, 25+8days holiday.

Working for a global facilities management business you will take overall responsibility for the management and commerciality of the Facilities and Maintenance Division across the UK in addition to leading the strategic relationships with customers and developing/overseeing large customer contracts with many blue–chip retailers. Experience in managing field maintenance and facility services delivery is essential as is developing strong customer relationship with high operational service delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Developing profitable growth of business division developing both existing and new business opportunities.
  • Responsible for managing of division with P&L responsibility and providing senior level supportto all Facility and Maintenance teams and employees nationwide
  • Deliver a high–quality service in line with the Facilities and Maintenance strategic direction, visionand values
  • Managing customer relationships, deliveryand negotiation of large customer contracts
  • Ensure Service Level Agreements delivered for both Mobile Engineers through planned and reactive maintenance are met nationwide.
  • Ensuring Service level agreements are delivered for facilities throughout customer site locations nationwide.
  • Establish and support the management of protocols for the safe and effective performance of the facilities and maintenance segment
  • Develop realistic performance objectives for the segment through leadership, motivationand performance management to achieve required results
  • Manage the staffing resource needs in conjunction with strategic goals and to ensure that longer term staffing needs, skills and personnel are built into a recruitment and retention
  • Oversee the structure of the Training Academy and ensure all Facilities & Maintenance employees skills framework is undertaken and Health & Safety standards are maintained.
  • Carry out high level and complex negotiations with a range of customers / contractors
  • Legislation to be followed in line with contractual matters
  • Ability to achieve strategic and operational objectives whilst balancing the day–to–day requirements of the division and maintaining the contractual obligations is essential
  • Financial responsibility for Facilities & Maintenance budget including stock, vehicles costs, marginand operational costs.
  • Manage and maintain optimally the stock required to deliver customer contracts, along with the most effective and commercially advantageous supply chain.
  • Identify opportunities for growth within client s business and take advantage of these to grow the business revenue.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Experience in management capacity with the ability to co–ordinate, self–motivateand support the team
  • Strong commercial and financial acumen with P&L responsibility experience
  • Managing diverse and customer relationships to maintain and grow customer sales
  • Persuasive argument to influence and negotiate contracts / customer requirements
  • Ability to discuss complex matters to overcome barriers to understanding
  • Ability to retain clarity of thought and composure under pressure is essential
  • Able to plan and prioritise own work and that of others including the development of plans for the futuretaking into consideration key strategic objectives
  • Be a collaborative and pragmatic communicator with excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Stock management
  • Detail oriented individual with exceptional organisational skills
