Your Employer
Our client is offering two fantastic opportunities to become integral members of their Tax, Trusts & Succession department at Associate level. As you will work with a range of Partners encompassing a number of matters, this is a chance for you to develop your career within a friendly team that is already renowned and recognised for its expertise in the sector. Your new employer has a vast client base, including landed estates and heritage property, investors and entrepreneurs, and professionals and senior executives. The team also delves into some international elements, but experience of international matters is not essential for these positions. This is a superb opportunity for Associates seeking to take the next step in their careers by gaining exposure to high-quality work and clients supported by successful Partners in an established team.
Your New Role
Your new role will require you to take on a variety of responsibilities. You will be expected to provide practical and commercial legal advice to clients in a clear and succinct manner, as well as manage a substantial and varied workload efficiently and cost-effectively with supervision. Where appropriate, you will be expected to delegate, coordinate and supervise the work of junior team members, as well as actively contributing in client marketing opportunities such as engaging in client seminars and presentations. The role will require you to apply a commercial approach to your own research and to evaluate the relevance and accuracy in the delivery of the advice provided. There will be a requirement to contribute to group knowledge, and to identify client opportunities and take active measures to follow through on these opportunities. Joining at 2-4 PQE level, you will be expected to draft accurately and logically, making appropriate use of precedents. Joining at 6+ PQE level, you will be required to draft more complex documents with minimum instruction and supervision.
What You'll Need to Succeed
To succeed in this role, you will be a qualified lawyer (or equivalent) in England and Wales at 2-4 PQE or 6+ PQE level, depending on the position you wish to apply for. You will have a good and appropriate knowledge of domestic succession and tax planning affairs, and you must be able to clearly demonstrate good judgement together with a concrete legal and commercial understanding of client's individual needs.
A STEP qualification is a desirable but non-essential trait for applicants. You will be able to understand the scope of the tasks given to you, manage your own time effectively, and perform well under pressure. You will need a high degree of attention to detail, possess strong problem-solving skills, and be flexible to undertake a variety of tasks. Alongside these individual traits and skills, you will also need to be a proactive team player, motivated and able to work under your own steam as well as collaboratively with your team. You will need to demonstrate excellent communication and inter-personal skills to build and maintain relationships with your clients. Additionally, you will have excellent IT skills and be able to go the extra mile for your clients and your team.
What You'll Get in Return
Joining as an Associate, you will have the chance to join a supportive and experienced department that will permit you to enhance your skills, expertise and knowledge. This superb opportunity will allow for ambitious lawyers to take the next steps in their career, gaining exposure to a complex and rewarding caseload and advising a wide range of domestic and international clients on their succession and tax planning. This full-time position operates on an agile working basis, with access to a competitive salary and a great benefits package.
