FTSE 100 energy business playing a major part in leading towards net zero and a sustainable world seeks a Legal Counsel to support major power projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Working as part of a legal team supporting the renewable energy division of a major energy group
  • Providing advice to a variety of stakeholders in respect of the project function, including general commercial agreements, tenders and acquisitions
  • Providing dedicated legal support on power generation projects behind electric vehicle hubs, solar and battery
  • Drafting and negotiating complex commercial agreements such as joint venture, power purchase agreements (PPAs) and energy services agreements
  • Providing ad hoc advice on a range of issues
We are looking for:

  • Qualified solicitor or barrister in England/Wales or Scotland with at least 2 years PQE*
  • Trained with a well-regarded law firm or in-house preferably with knowledge of the energy or utilities sector
  • Strong commercial law experience
  • Ability to lead negotiations on complex projects
  • Ability to draft complex commercial contracts, preferably power projects but transferable skills will be considered
  • Comfortable working independently
  • A clear and concise communicator
  • Confident and resilient
  • Keen to work in a high performing supportive team
