Engineering Manager– Birmingham

GBP(Apply online only) Per day (Outside IR35)

3 month contract

Immediate Start

The interim Engineering Manager will be responsible for maintaining and improving the performance of the clients plant through improved mechanical and electrical reliability and Engineering compliance. The Engineering Manager will be accountable for the following:

  • Plan, co–ordinate and manage all site engineering and maintenance activities, safely and within agreed budget.
  • Ensure that all engineering contractors and suppliers engaged on engineering/maintenance tasks are compliant with SHEQ expectations.
  • Control and manage maintenance activities using preventative measures to minimize the risk of downtime while ensuring a rapid response to breakdowns and efficient follow–up to identify corrective actions.
  • Ensure that all systems for storage and accurate recording of spare parts and tools are maintained and regularly reviewed.
  • Co–ordinate all activities associated with CAPEX applications and delivery of approved projects.
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities across the Engineering and Maintenance functions.
  • Ensure that site assets are operated efficiently and effectively and maintained to a high standard.
  • Liaise regularly with other parts of the business to ensure the engineering and maintenance functions are meeting the needs of both internal and external customers, suppliers, and stakeholders.
  • Oversee the management of all people activities related to engineering and maintenance, applying company policy and best practice consistently, reasonably, and fairly.
  • Develop and implement new and improved departmental practices.
  • Provide progress reports to local and central functions as required.

  • Experience in managing engineering/maintenance activities in a production environment.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in managing and developing people.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations.
  • Strong analytical and problem–solving skills.
