Business Development Manager UK and Ireland

In support of a globally focused designer and manufacturer of electrical equipment and power conversion capability, we are seeking a new and senior Business Development Manager to actively target and grow successful client relationships in the UK and Ireland for their range of outdoor low voltage (100kva to 10MW) energy storage capital equipment and services.

Working within the existing Energy Storage business unit and reporting directly to the head office in France and working from a home based position primarily in England, you will be responsible for

  • Designing the sales and go–to market strategy for Energy Storage in the UK & Ireland
  • Implement and deliver the strategy through local sales forces as well as directly with customers
  • Detect opportunities and transform them in concrete business winning opportunities
  • Be on local expert of the M.O.D.E (Market/Offer/Demands/Environment) for products, solutions & services.
  • Participate in the development of marketing activities, providing insight on customers' needs, roads to market, competition, pricing
  • Be the interface between the sales team and the project engineering, representing the customer and its specific needs

This is a proactive sales growth position; their products and services can support a range of applications and markets across the territory. Candidates should therefore have a direct business development and solutions sales approach.

It is expected that suitable candidates for this position will have existing power generation and renewable energy equipment and capability awareness. Knowledge of UPS capabilities and applications would be beneficial, but not essential as full training would be provided.

Note, the UK and Irish markets are new territories for our client and therefore the position has real opportunities for success.

To support this role, candidates should have:

  • A strong technical capability to degree level and above
  • Proven and successful new strategic sales growth exposure within the UK and Irish markets
  • Ability to work independently but also have close working relationship with a larger group to support technical and commercial engagement
  • Have an open mind to application and opportunity
  • Working from a home base to provide coverage of the United Kingdom and Ireland
