Description
Oversee an existing department of x3 which includes the Head of Finance two Accounts Assistants who support day–to–day operations.
The Head of Commercial and Head of IT will also report into this role.
- Responsible for all financial aspects of long term and day–to–day business planning.
- Preparation of annual accounts, financial systems and reporting, risk management, operational policies, procedures and compliance: GDPR, governance matters and the Trust's Trading companies including Future Nature Ecological Consultancy.
- Contribute to the overall strategic direction of the charity.
- Provide strategic communications across the organisation.
- Organise and manage the Finance & Audit Committee working closely with Treasurer.
- Liaise and maintain an effective relationship with the Trust's professional advisors such as auditors, bankers, lawyers, etc.
- Provide clear leadership and direction across the organisation inspiring and motivating others to achieve, by generating trust and confidence.
- Develop and maintain strong, supportive relationships with other Wildlife Trusts, the Royal Society of Wildlife Trusts (RSWT) and other partner organisations.
Profile
- A fully qualified accountant – either ACA, ACCA or CIMA.
- Strong experience within charity accounts and preferably within public sector.
- Experience in leading/managing department.
- Skilled in financial planning and analysis.
- Effective oral and written communications skills, including writing comprehensive reports and insightful presentations to management and the Board of Trustees.
