The Comms and Force Protection business area is recruiting for a Senior Project Manager reporting to the Programme Manager for the Support Organisation. You will lead a team of Project Managers and Project Leaders who are responsible for effective execution and delivery of a portfolio of support Projects.
The primary role for this post is to build relationships, manage the IPT, and provide a point of escalation interface between Leonardo and the various Customers to deliver support requirements in line with Customer expectations.
The performance expectations are to lead and influence the IPT and supporting functions to achieve the Customer requirements, Project schedule, cost and adherence to quality parameters in line with Lifecycle Management processes.
Travel will be required in line with Customer meetings within the UK and occasionally overseas.
Key responsibilities to include:
Manage the team to ensure contract deliveries to time, cost, quality and technical compliance. This involves internal and external sub–contractors.
Ensure adherence to Leonardo's Lifecycle Management (LCM), as appropriate and tailored to suit project requirements.
Proactively monitor cost, schedule progress, and lead the team effectively through planning, allocation and reporting of work in order to ensure successful delivery of the project and its objectives
Anticipate, mitigate and manage dependencies, risks and synergies in support of increased business performance.
Build and maintain strong working relationships with all functions in order to influence support and deliver project activities. Act as a point of escalation for the Project Managers and Project Administrators in their team.
Support the ongoing development and/or improvement of relationships with internal and external customers and suppliers to build on the principals of trust, collaboration and mutual respect.
Work closely with the Programme Manager to ensure the workload is organised and integrated as efficiently as possible to ensure a firm, understood and mutually agreed setup.
Support the Programme Manager to generate, communicate and report on the programme as accurately and effectively as possible across Comms and Force Protection IPT Project Reviews and ISP LoB CSRs.
Support the Programme Manager to generate, agree and flow–down performance improvement plans.
