Permanent Staff Position

Our client is a leading global consultancy service business with an excellent reputation for their breadth of capability and their capacity to provide innovative solutions for challenging projects.

They are currently seeking a Principal / Associate Project Manager with a background of working within the construction and development sector, to become a lead member of their established PMO team in Leeds. Due to their continued success in securing significant new work, you will be assisting in the support of major projects of national and international significance, particularly within a variety of governmental sectors.

The Role

Reporting directly to Project Directors, Sector and Portfolio Leads, you will be responsible for managing projects through their lifecycle from inception to handover. This will include working closely with clients, stakeholders, and colleagues from other disciplines.

Our client is seeking a passionate and high performing Project Managers who can demonstrate a flexible management skillset through innovative and diverse thinking.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Managing Project Teams
  • Successful delivery of projects to time, cost and quality standards
  • Client liaison and stakeholder management
  • Project reviews
  • Chairing project progress meetings with project teams
  • Ensuring internal governance is adhered to
  • Managing and reporting project finances (external)
  • Maintaining project financial discipline (internal) including invoicing
  • Programming of works and resource management
  • Managing project risk
  • Project change control management
  • Developing and growing customer relationships, whilst identifying new business development opportunities.
  • Supporting Senior Staff in delivering business objectives
  • Developing colleagues in their early careers programme

Skills & Experience

Suitable candidates should be able to demonstrate:

  • Experience of working in a project environment and leading projects
  • The ability to work collaboratively with clients to deliver results
  • The ability to prepare and implement a range of project tools including Programmes, Risk Registers, Stakeholder Management Plans, Project Execution Plans, Quality Assurance Plans
  • Strong communication skills both oral and written, including the ability to manage meetings with a variety of stakeholders of varying seniority.
  • A collaborative approach including managing large technical teams and working closely with multi–stakeholder client teams
  • Strong understanding of Construction Contracts, specifically NEC 3/4 and commercially astute
  • Good practical knowledge of Microsoft Software, including Excel, Project and Word
  • The ability to meet client security clearance requirements
  • Flexibility to travel internationally if required
  • Professional and ethical in everything that you do

In addition, the candidate will preferably:

  • Hold APM qualifications (PFQ and PMQ) or equivalent and either be or working towards becoming a Chartered Project Professional.
  • Hold NEC 3/4 accreditation
  • Hold a UK Driving Licence
