The Role:

  • As a member of the Extended Leadership Team the Head of People is responsible for developing and delivering the MBNL People, Engagement, Change and Internal Communications agenda to deliver short term and long–term needs.
  • Responsible for challenging the leadership team and wider business for developing our people and delivering the core business within headcount. The role holder is a key expert in change leadership and will steer our people centred approach to change.
  • The Head of People has ultimate responsibility for ensuring the People Team deliver against the strategic and operational work across all areas of the wider HR remit.

What would be your key accountabilities in the role:

  • Responsible for leading and integrating the people offering through the design & delivery of MBNL's People, Change, Engagement, and IC Strategy
  • Defining, building, and shaping MBNL's culture in line with the MBNL business strategy and core values
  • Leading & Developing the People & IC team to deliver the People & IC agenda. Setting and sharing the vision, cascading information with the wider People & IC Team to ensure everyone is working towards a common goal
  • Business partner to the Extended Leadership Team – understanding and inputting to the MBNL business goals and challenges; identifying business and HR opportunities to support these, agreeing, and delivering a plan.
  • Creating and embedding organisation level design principles to optimise the whole organisation
  • Developing and embed a people–centred approach to change advising the business on how to plan, manage and de–risk programmes or portfolios of change to deliver organisational benefits
  • Leading creating and embedding a talent management strategy including future capability planning, creating, and managing frameworks that support identification and development of our talent and future leaders.
  • Creating a reward strategy which attracts, motivates, and retains workers.
  • Overseeing high risk employee relations issues as they arise and proactively managing risk to prevent them from occurring in the first place
  • Challenge the status quo, keep abreast of the external market, and use this to drive improvements, continuous improvements and learning

The successful Head of People & Change will have:

  • Previous HR Leadership Experience working at equivalent level
  • Experience of collaborating with senior stakeholders
  • A record of leading and embedding change, in complex environment
  • A sound commercial approach to creating HR solutions & strategies
  • Experience of leading Internal Communications and engagement
  • An interest in external market factors and industry developments. A proven track record of bringing the outside into your organisation and using this to drive improvements
  • Experience of creating and delivering people agendas that deliver business benefits
  • An excellent understanding of culture and health of the organisation.
  • A proven track record in leadership, creating positive climates, articulating a vision, managing change, and inspiring people
  • Experience of coaching and developing people to be their best
  • An ability to build positive relationships and an understanding of organisational politics
  • Coaching and developing senior leaders
