Macildowie is delighted to be partnering with LOROS in the appointment of their Director of Finance & Resources to lead the Finance, IT, Facilities and Operations function and deliver a financial strategy that realises the charity's priorities and future plans.LOROS is a widely known, highly regarded and passionately supported charity. It is one of the UK's largest hospice charities, providing specialist palliative care for adults with a terminal illness, and support for their families across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland. The organisation's vision is that everyone with an incurable illness has the right to excellent care. This should value and respect their uniqueness and their own choices. People should be enabled to live and die with dignity and with appropriate and compassionate support for themselves and their loved ones.They invest GBP10.5 million in service delivery every year with 23% of this currently coming from the NHS and the rest being raised through voluntary income, via a network of 29 shops, fundraising events, lottery, philanthropic giving and other commercial ventures. They also work in partnership with higher and further education providers to supply education, training and support to over 2,100 health and social care professionals every year. It is an excellent time to be joining LOROS with the board of trustees on the verge of agreeing a new strategy to underpin their work for the next five years. The salary on offer for this opportunity is GBP75,000–GBP80,000.Main Duties & Responsibilities– Day–to–day management of the financial resources of the LOROS Group (LOROS Limited, LOROS Enterprises, LOROS Lotteries, LOROS Commercial Innovations and Dove Cottage Day Hospice)– Financial planning, including annual and longer–term budgeting, scenario planning, and forecasting– Overseeing the preparation of the financial accounts and trustees' annual report, working with auditors to ensure compliance and demonstrate public benefit– Contributing to the preparation of business cases for new projects to support investment decisions and funding applications– Ensuring the effective management of organisational risk by leading on the implementation and regular review of a board risk assurance framework – Providing strategic leadership to the development of IT infrastructure and maintenance of facilities with the support of the IT Manager and Facilities and Operations Manager– Nurturing the talent and capability of team members, enabling them to excel against strategically linked individual objectives and learning and development plansRequirements– Fully qualified accountant and current member of CIMA, ACCA, ACA or CIPFA– Dynamic leader who isn't just technically talented but has a significant track record of finance leadership and the ability to influence a medium to large sized team (responsibility for 35.8 FTE within this post) – Substantial experience of budget preparation, scenario planning and financial forecasting linked to the delivery of organisational strategy– Experience of preparing year end accounts as well as liaising with auditors, investment and statutory bodies– Superb team working skills with the ability to contribute to effective strategic and operational decision making as a member of the senior leadership teamTimetable– Closing date – 2nd April– First interviews held 13th or 19th AprilThis Director of Finance & Resources role is an excellent opportunity to lead and help deliver LOROS' plans to achieve even more for patients and families in the coming years.
