The role
Part of the Senior Finance team, the role is not intended to be fully defined, but fluid depending on the peaks and troughs which occur in the business throughout the regular weeks and months.
This position is ideal for someone wanting to step up in insurance and finance operations with a company that will give you the opportunity to develop your career in the financial services sector. Given the growth trajectory of the company future roles will present themselves around finance and operations.
The team work with highly motivated niche insurance teams that deal in complicated and innovative transactions. As such the role throws up technical and reporting challenges that will instigate a deeper understanding of the insurance industry for the right individual.
Key accountabilities
Your responsibilities for this role may include,but are not limited to:
1. Production and consolidation of individual office and group management accounts2. Management reporting and financial analysis3. Monthly processing of subsidiary bordereau (written, claims, and payment)4. Provide regular and ad–hoc reporting on the performance of the group from an underwriting perspective5. Improvement and streamlining of group reporting procedures6. Continuous development of internal control processes – process design and implementation to enable automation7. Support group strategic initiatives8. Ad–hoc projects as required, including supporting the year end process for financial reporting9. Support the team in various regular tasks (month ends, budgeting, forecasting, analysis, report writing, etc)10. Processing of monthly bordereau and insurance payments (premium and claims)11. Analysis and resolution of queries from insurers12. Partnering with UK entities to enable strong strategic relationships13. Maintain effective relationships across the functions of the wider Pine Walk Group
Compliance & Regulatory Responsibilities1. To remain compliant with FCA requirements at all times2. To obtain appropriate approvals to ensure compliance with company policy, procedures and regulatory requirements and rules, with regards to data protection, money laundering, etc3. To share ideas, best practice and other information within the team4. Ensure that own performance, HR and T&C records are up to date and meet the Company's requirements5. Maintain accurate records and deal with correspondence appropriately

Skills & experience
Essential Skills, Knowledge and Experience Strong written and spoken communication skills to enable communication at all levels Ability to handle a varied workload and competing priorities Strong analytical, research and reporting skills Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word, Excel and PowerPointo Advanced Excel – nested vlookups, data manipulation, pivot tables, etc Willingness to work extended hours, as required Confident when working with senior staff members Able to contribute in a team environment Resilient and motivated to grow and develop with the needs of the business Able to solve issues as they arise in response to a fast–paced environment
Essential Audit experience Experience of group finance functions in mid–to–large size financial services firms Experience of managing multiple stakeholders Qualified member of recognised accountancy body (ICAEW preferred)
Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Experience Experience of working in a decentralised team, particularly with international team members Educated to a minimum of degree level (2:1 classification and above) Experience of implementation of control procedures
