Fantastic opportunity for a Commercial Finance Manager looking for their next challenge with a fast growing FTSE 250 media business.
Salary: GBP60–GBP68k
Location: City of London
Hybrid: 1 day in the office
The role:
Business Partnering
- Act as principle Finance Business Partner to functional budget owners.
- In addition, the role will need to build relationships across the Finance community in order to produce consolidated reporting/analysis potentially requiring inputs from multiple sources.
Budget
- Own the budget process and delivery of submissions as per agreed timetable working closely with functional leaders and teams.
- Preparation of all associated materials such as budget packs, commentaries and analysis.
Month–end and forecast
- Month–end ownership and close including working with the shared service centre (based in India) to provide guidance on accounting entries such as journals.
- Forecast review, submission and the provision of associated variance analysis/commentaries, risks and opportunities, etc.
- Assisting with Capex reviews and investment case tracking as needed.
Reporting
- Production of monthly forecast packs and presentation of financial performance to CFO/COO as part of quarterly forecast review meetings.
- Development of cost centre reporting for sub–function owners.
- Provision of ad–hoc analysis and investment appraisal as required.
Strategic & other
- Cost control and identification of efficiencies.
About you:
- Qualified accountant – ACA, CIMA, ACCA, ICAS or similar
- Strong Microsoft Office including Excel and PowerPoint
- Experience of FP&A consolidation/planning tools
- Strong ERP experience, preferably SAP.
- Management accountant experience i.e. month–end, forecasting, reporting, commentaries, risks and ops, etc.
- Experience partnering with non–Finance business leaders with the ability to challenge and influence senior management.
- Sizeable P&L/cost base ownership.
- Drive for continuous improvement
- High degree of numeracy with excellent analytical, reconciliation and problem–solving skills.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication.
- Comfortable working with large datasets and able to distil complex issues down to key messages.
