Job Title: Head of Development – Software Consultancy

Location: Birmingham

Salary: GBP400–500 per day

12 Months initial contract

Outside IR35

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Head of Development to join a leading software consultancy based in Birmingham.

The successful individual will be responsible for leading the development team, providing technical guidance and mentoring to the team, and ensuring development projects are delivered on time and to the highest standards. The Head of Development will be involved in the design and development of complex software applications, as well as carrying out code reviews and providing technical advice to the team. They must have strong experience with software development and have a good understanding of software engineering processes and development methodologies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the development team, providing technical guidance and mentoring
• Design and develop complex software applications
• Carry out code reviews and provide technical advice
• Ensure development projects are delivered on time and to the highest standards
• Develop and maintain a good understanding of software engineering processes and development methodologies
• Work closely with other departments to ensure a cohesive working environment

Technical Skills Required:

• Good knowledge of software engineering processes and development methodologies
• Proficient in a range of programming languages including C#, Java and Python
• Ability to develop and maintain complex software applications
• Experience with unit testing and debugging techniques
• Excellent problem solving and communication skills
