We are currently recruiting for an experienced and educated Supply Chain & Purchasing Manager for a well–established Manufacturer in Plymouth.
The Head of Supply Chain and Purchasing will be required to manage the businesses Supply Management and Inventory Management to ensure the continued growth and strategic performance activities within the business.
A relocation package will be available for the right candidate if required.
Main Purpose of the role:
- Lead a team of buyers and support in the development skills careers.
- Oversee category strategic development
- Implement Continuous improvement
- Deliver on cost reductions
- Monitor and forecast upcoming levels of demand
- Ensure all purchasing processes are critical to product safety, legality and quality
- Lead purchasing functions of NPU Projects
- Monitor the teams develop relationships with suppliers
- Support the company's business plans
- To support the management of purchase contracts and approved following the Company policies
- Create and have ownership of the company stock holding policy
- Lead site procurement processes including the development and implementation of plans that reduce costs, increase accuracy of purchases, and resolve issues with suppliers and accounts payable
- Review current supply chains assessing their efficiencies and whether they support business strategies adapted to new or changing market conditions or new business opportunities
- Maintain excellent customer service levels alongside optimising stock levels and ensuring engaged productive supplier partnerships
- Create robust Supplier SLA's and manage overall compliance through monitoring on internal KPI's.
- Conduct strategic supplier meetings to review performance and risks & opportunities
Qualifications & Experience:
- Management experience within a similar role
- Must have a BS Degree in supply chain or Technical qualification, Business or Economics Degree
- Ideally CIPS Qualified
- MRP/SAP Experience
- Excellent Analytical Skills
