Senior Project Manager needed for a well–known construction organisation based in Surrey who are looking to employ an experienced and well–rounded Senior Project Manager that takes pride in their work with an in–depth knowledge of being the go–to person to take overall responsibility for the successful completion of the section or works/overall project and to lead by example, managing the day–to–day delivery of a projects.

The successful candidate must have a strong Civil Engineering background as well as having there CSCS Card and be SMSTS qualified.

I am looking for a Solid Project Manager that is keen to now step up to a Senior Project Manager and someone that is able to come in and hit the ground running.

What the role entails:

Some of the main duties of the Senior Project Manager will include:

• Overall responsibility for the successful completion of the section or works/overall project and to lead by example, managing the day–to–day delivery of a project(s).
• Ensure site records are accurately maintained and available
• Ensure all team members are fully inducted and carry out role specific requirements, identifying opportunities for improvement
• Lead and motivate the team and manage performance, undertaking training/ coaching as appropriate
• Responsible for the safety and welfare of the general public, staff and supply chain within area of control under the strict observance of the safety policy and in conjunction with local HSE
• Manage sub–contractors, including monitoring of contractor attendance and progress, providing direct instruction and support as necessary, such that contractual arrangements are achieved
• Carry out constructive analysis of fully resourced programme and report findings
• Maintain targets and KPI's in line with Project objectives and monitor performance.

What experience you need to be the successful Senior Project Manager:

• A successful track record in managing operational delivery within a construction environment.
• Able to clearly communicate the requirements of a safe system of work to ensure that these are followed accurately, and experience in implementing systems improvements
• Understands Safe Systems of Work and can coach others in document production
• Clear understanding and experience of the requirements for handover and self–certification of the works
• CSCS Card and SMSTS qualified
• Civil Engineering experience
• Temporary Works
• Ideally: NEC Contract experience; Lifting Appointed Person; Temporary Works Coordinator.
